Bunnys Day

Making this I wasn't really sure what to do. There were a lot of things I could do but I couldn't think of a coherent project to make that would utilize such things. I did have one idea that I decided to roll with though. That being a moving image that featured my pets. In the end I still feel that it was nonsensical but perhaps that aspect can add to the feel of it. I could make a somewhat surreal moving image. A day in which random happening occur around a cat who is simply trying to rest. FMPA Art Piece Response

Stephen Wilkes desire to capture time in a single image certainly resulted in an impressive and beautiful range of pieces. All of which I found to be beautiful, but this one stuck out me. It's his picture of Trafalgar Square in London. The framing of the scene and the view you get of the crowd just makes it a delight to look at. It almost makes me think of a digitally painted piece. Where one can add colors and effects that you can't get in real life. So seeing this really evokes that whole feel of wonder and interest you feel when you look at a unique piece of art.   I'm not really sure if i'd like to use his process but I would love to recreate the feel and aesthetic. I particularly like the change from day to night. The color of the sky and the contrast between the day building and the glowing windows of the night buildings is something I would like to recreate. There's also the sort of information overload that you get with the large crowd and detailed a...

Experimental Photos

For this I knew that I wanted to make something spooky but I wasn't exactly sure as to how I wanted to do it. I didn't have anything elaborate that I could focus on so it had to be simple. So I photographed myself and my home, all the while experimenting with the technique. This led to me increasing the exposure so that I could a ghostly effect. I bounced between a couple of ideas but this was the one I settled on, since it was a simple procedure and one I could really mess around with. I wanted to see what I could do between me pressing the button and the shutter finally closing.  Sadly since I was the only one taking the pictures I couldn't be at the ready whenever the picture was taken but I was still able to get into the shot and move around.  I made sure that there was very little light when I was taking the pictures so that the exposure wouldn't be to bright. One of the few lights I had was a candle. This let me do a few fun things that resulted in s...

Experimental Idea

I want to make the world look more ghostly and surreal. To do this I think I might take pictures by having the shutter open for a certain amount of time. I'd also like to have some movement in the picture so that certain objects or people appear almost seem like spirits.
